Lighting / 01

The ideal reference photo is in natural daylight. Make sure it reflects the correct coat colour and that the eyes are visible. Taking a photo in natural lighting is ideal but well-lit rooms can work well too.

Pose / 02

Select or take a photo where your pet is in a pose you want me to recreate. Try get one that captures something of their unique and wonderful character

Make sure your photos are clear and crisp. This will ensure the best quality portrait and leave less room for guess work.

Common Q&A

My pet is no longer with us and no photos fit the above. Can you still do my portrait?

I can work from multiple reference photos. Fill out the commission form with as many photos as you can and I will let you know if I feel it's still possible to do a quality portrait.

Can my pet's favourite toy be included in the portrait?

Your portrait can be customised to however you'd like, depending on the complexity of the toy, there may be additional charges. Fill out the commission form and I will get back to you with a quote.
